Wow! That is all I can say! Today was our appointment with Dr. Steinkampf, the reproductive endocrinologist who specializes in Endo. I have been really excited about this appointment because it will give us a better road map to what we will do after this Lupron/ Menopause stuff.
Yesterday I went to Dr. Hudson's and got my records. I made a copy for myself and then called my dad to ask him what some of the medical terminology meant. I was pretty bummed after reading through the past year of notes.
So today was the big "consultation" and Dr. Steinkampf said, "you don't need to take the next shot of Lupron!" , What, come again?!!! This was SO not what I was expecting! I thought that I would go in and he would tell me to come back in August when Lupron was over, but he said that I needed to just wait for my period and at that point I will take Clomid for 5 days and then do my first IUI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe it! This news should not be so shocking- God moves in incredible ways! So, I love Dr. Steinkampf, so great and fun. He said that when you have endo that you have cells in your uturus that eat sperm! Yep, no kidding! I got chills because that just means that God made Nick especially for me. (He has a way above average sperm count!) He is running some tests to see if I have any issues with my pituitary glad etc because of my crazy cycles. I should get those results on Monday. So, PRAYING FOR THE PERIOD!

I just happened upon your blog, and after reading your most recent post, I have been through the very same situation. I got married last year, so I went to the Dr. to get BC and he noticed that I had uterine fibroids. Well, I then went in for an ultrasound, and the tech found I had a total of 3 cysts, and she could not see and/or find my right ovary. The Dr. remembered that I was getting married soon and told me to call when I got back from my honeymoon and he would schedule me for a laparoscopy. He ran a CA-125 blood test beforehand and the test was elevated. (CA-125 tests for ovarian cancer so he immediately sent me to an oncologist in B'ham.) I saw the oncologist and he wanted to do the lap himself. Once I got into surgery, the oncologist found a cyst the size of a grapefruit inside my right ovary, he decided to do major surgery (cut me like a c-section) to remove the cyst. I have been told my the fertility dr. that they scale endo and mine was off the charts. He called in a fertility specialist to assist, since he was cutting my ovary open. Luckily I still have all of my reproductive organs, but since the endometriosis was so severe, I have permanent damage in my left fallopian tube and my right ovary is pretty much mutilated from the cyst and surgery to remove the cyst. I also have scar tissue on my uterus and colon because the ovary was so large it pushed on the uterus and then the uterus pushed on the colon. I was on Lupron (and the addback) for 6 months after my surgery. I know God has great plans in store for myself, and pray you will continue to have faith.
God Bless!
Hey Shelley
