Waiting on Aunt Flo! HAHA!

So this Thursday will be officially 6 weeks since our doc apt. with Dr. Steinkampf where he told us that we should wait on the period and then do an IUI. I'm feeling crampy, but no AF yet. We still have a few days before they will induce it with hormones.
I feel the need to share what an IUI is exactly bc people keep asking me. I sometimes forget that not everyone goes through infertility! An IUI is Intrauterine Insemination. The process is to help give us the best chance of conception. The Process for our first round and hopefully last will start with the period. Once that happens, I will take Clomid days 2-6. Then I will start using at home Ovulation kits on days 10 on until we get a positive ovulation. (This is just like a pregnancy test except that it shows you when you ovulate. You pee on a stick...) once we get the smiley face- yes the tests actually show up with a smiley face when you ovulate!- we will call the Doc and schedule an IUI the very next day. People call this "the Turkey Baster" procedure because the doctor takes the husband's swimmers, and basically squirts them into the wife, bypassing the hostile environment. This is not IVF, which costs thousands of dollars, but just a few hundred.

Thanks for the prayers on AF. Enough about that- I want to tell about our adventures at Ross Bridge! Nick took me to Ross Bridge this past weekend. It was so relaxing and just a fun time for us- almost like a mini honeymoon! It made me really appreciate the time we have together! Again- God keeps signaling to me that I should enjoy this time bc It won't last forever. I've become a huge Country Music fan lately and a song I recently heard was "You're gonna miss this". It says "You're gonna miss this, you're gonna want this back, you're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast, these are some good times, so take a good look around, You may not know it now, but you're gonna miss this."

Shelley,

Glad to read your update...I will keep checking and be cheering you on from the sidelines...I know so much about reproductive technology that I honestly feel like I could teach it...hahahahaha!!! I, too, forget that not everyone knows as much as we do...Oh well.

Anyway, I will be checking back for your next post that AF has arrived...

Hugs,
Dawn
